Music Theory
Music Theory
A proper understanding of music theory, and more importantly, the practical use of the theory is an essential element of learning and playing music, regardless of what instrument you play. More and more I am seeing that, because of time constraints, music theory is not been taught to the extent that it needs to be in the average music class/ instrument lesson.
I can offer the music student focused lessons on music theory to supplement their music class/ instrument lesson, to give the student the confidence and ability to really understand music theory and how to use it in practise.
Lessons can focus on the following:
Classical Theory
Need help in the theory aspect of exams? Or just want to understand the music that you play a bit more. Then dedicated music theory classes can help.
Jazz Theory
Ever wondered how jazz musicians know what to play? Well understanding music theory is essential in order to play jazz and all kinds of improvised music.
Popular Music Theory
Want to be the next big thing on the scene? Music theory can greatly increase your ability to play and compose/produce music in popular styles (pop, rock, R&B, soul, electronic, hip hop etc.).
Furthermore classes can be tailored to suit the students individual needs.
