Ian Davies is a graduate of Basstech at the Guitar Institute in London and holds a BA (Hons) in Music from Chichester University.
He has been playing music from an early age and the bass guitar since he was 13 years old. In addition to being an accomplished bass guitar he also plays the double bass and composes music.
While learning the Double Bass David Heyes was a big influence along with Miloslave Jelinek and the Jazz bassist Andy Clyndert. Furthermore the lessons on the bass guitar from Rob Burns and Terry Gregory at Basstech were invaluable and greatly appreciated.
Ian is proficient in all styles of music, from jazz to rock and funk to classical; he has been performing and teaching for over 8 years. Some of the highlights of Ian’s music career have been performing with the National Musicians Symphony Orchestra, the ‘Orpheus Jazz Trio’ and in teaching all his students.
